Chargeback evidence for online courses

Course disputes often ask whether the buyer received the educational product they paid for. Enrollment status, login history, and lesson opens are usually more relevant than a charge confirmation alone.

Educational content only. Not legal advice. Not a prediction of dispute outcomes. Issuers and networks decide cases; ProofRail does not control those decisions.

What course disputes tend to argue about

Buyers may claim they never received access, could not log in, or that the offer differed from what was advertised. Merchants often have pieces of a response in the course platform, the payment processor, the email tool, and a support inbox - but not one exportable timeline.

Under a seven-to-ten-day response window, reconstruction is expensive. Screenshots of the admin UI today may not show what the buyer experienced on purchase day. Terms versions change. Lesson catalogs change. Access policies change.

Categories that often matter

For online courses, a practical evidence set may include the purchased offer and price, the terms and refund policy version shown at checkout, enrollment creation, authentication events, lesson or module access, download events for course files, and support messages about access problems. None of these categories promises a favorable result. Together they reduce ambiguity about what happened.

Build the record during operations

The strongest posture is not a special project after a dispute arrives. It is ordinary capture while students enroll and learn: connect the payment source you use, connect or send delivery and access events, preserve them with source labels, and export when needed. That loop is described onhow it works.

Course-host connectors may be requested or planned depending on platform. Stripe payment events are available as the first adapter. Tell us your stack when youjoin the betaso roadmap priority reflects real course sellers.

What this is not

This article is not a script for winning disputes. It is not legal advice. ProofRail is not a law firm, insurer, or payment processor. Outcomes remain with providers and issuers. The merchant goal is clearer facts, organized earlier - not a claim that any score or package determines a result.
